E-MCT - Round transit | E-RGP - SFRB
On land At sea

EMC and G&B multi cable & pipe transits for maritime, offshore and land-based applications. The EMC transits & components provide the same sealing as the standard MCT Brattberg system but with added, built-in protection against electromagnetic pulse (due to lightning or nuclear blast) and interference (EMI), electronic sabotage (synthetic EMP) and static electricity.

E-RGP - SFRB

For bolting

The RGP assembled in a sleeve with a flange that allows the frame into a hole which is slightly larger than the frame. The sleeve is able to be bolted where welding is prohibited or not possible due to stress levels. It is supplied as a kit, complete with drilled holes, bolts, nuts, washers and a gasket or sealing compound.

For installations where cables are already in place, specify RGP - SFRBO which is an open version.

EMC

  • All dimensions are exactly the same for the standard MCT Brattberg components.
  • All Insert Blocks are marked with yellow marking (see instructions).

Grounding and Bonding

  • For grounding & bonding applications standard presswedge or endpacking is sufficient.
  • Series E-RGS, E-RGB, E-RGG, and E-RGP These products are primarily intended for grounding and bonding of communication, instrument, power, braid or wire armored cables and copper pipes.
  • Plugs and Wraps are only for use in Grounding and Bonding applications, not EMC
  • G&B Datasheet

Correct and safe installations

To achieve the highest standard of safety, a cable or pipe transit must be installed correctly. As there are many different types of frame – which may be either welded, bolted or glued into position – and insert block, it is essential that installers known when to use the most appropriate installation method.

For more information, please view following instructions, videos or download manuals as PDFs.

PRESSURE-TIGHT INSTALLATION
All contact surfaces between the pipe and the RGP plug must be cleaned carefully prior to installation. Do not use any lubricant on these surfaces. All blocks must be lubricated carefully with MCT Brattberg lubricant. The penetration must not be subjected to pressure for at least 48 hours after installation. This is to allow the pressure to equalise throughout the penetration. It will take more time for the pressure to equalise at temperatures below 20°C.

Note: If the installation is subjected to pressure, all components must be replaced after removal and refitting.

Use bolts for this transit

This transit was designed for areas where welding is prohibited or welding induced stress levels making welding unacceptable. This transit is therefore to be fastened by bolts to ensure installation quality.

General

The system consists of a round rubber frame and rubber blocks. The E-RGP is assembled in sleeves, pipes, drilled or cast holes and packed with rubber blocks suited for each cable and pipe dimension. The compression bolts are tightened to compress the rubber blocks against cables and pipes to establish a tight seal.

Benefits of MCT Brattberg E-systems

  • Protects against electrical and magnetic interference (EMI), “bugging”, electronic sabotage (SEMP) and static electricity (ESD).
  • Assists cable management.
  • Integral earthing between cables and wall screen.
  • Also seals the penetration against the passage of fire, water, gas, sound and environmental hazards.
  • Special E-Series for Grounding and Bounding
  • System can be dismantled and re-used.
