MCT Brattberg’s hugely successful MSR range has once again come to the rescue of clients needing to seal cables on vessels where hot work (welding) isn’t possible and locations of cables penetrating through deck/bulkheads are extremely challenging!
Ross Taylor from the UK office of MCT Brattberg was contacted by Chris Smith, fleet electrical superintendent for SMS Towage Ltd based in Hessle, East Yorkshire to help solve the sealing of cables on the Superman, 1 of their 20 harbour tugs.
The only location the cables could be installed was extremely challenging due to limited space, plus the necessity to achieve an A60 seal meant our MSR’s were the safest and best solution. Through careful planning and skilled engineering Chris Smith was able to fit the cable, seal it with our MSR and have a safe secure vessel ready for work.
