RGP System - For casting, bolting & welding.

These cable and pipe transits are used in high-risk maritime, offshore and land-based environments to minimize danger by preventing the spread of fire, water, gas, chemicals and other hazards substances.

The system consists of a round rubber frame (RGP or RGPO) and rubber blocks. The RGP or RGPO is assembled in sleeves, pipes, drilled or cast holes and packed with rubber blocks suited for each cable and pipe dimension. The compression bolts are tightened to compress the rubber blocks against cables and pipes to establish a tight seal.

    RGP is a Lycron frame for assembly in sleeves, pipes, drilled or cast holes. It is available in standard diameters 50, 70, 100, 125, 150, 200 and 300mm and 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 inches and is packed with MCT insert blocks. The hardware is available in galvanized or stainless steel.



    RGPO is a RGP with an open side intended for installation in holes where cables have already been pulled.


    The sleeves are available in several diameters to suit each RGP/RGPO size. They can be welded, casted or bolted to a structure. The standard materials are mild steel, stainless steel or aluminum.


    Insert Blocks

    MCT Brattberg’s insert blocks are manufactured from Lycron, a synthetic polymer that was developed to withstand fire, explosions, temperature variation, ageing, radiation and rodents. The blocks are injection moulded giving precision components to a high degree of accuracy. Standard blocks are available for cable diameters from 3,5 – 110 mm. Other dimensions can be supplied to order.



    MCT Brattberg Lubricant consists of pure beef tallow. It is used to improve the system’s water and gas tightness and shall be applied on all Lycron parts sealing surfaces when such demands exist.  


    RGP is also available in 300 diameter.

    In RGP frames no compression plate or final seal is required to hold the insert blocks in place. The packing space then consists of the whole of the frame's inner space.
